Royal Exchange, London EC3
This building on the site of the original Royal Exchange opened by Elizabeth I in 1571 involved the refurbishment of the interior of the Grade I listed building from 1844 in the City of London. It was funded by Rolls-Royce Pension Trust and involved the purchase of 32 existing shop units around the perimeter of Royal Exchange along with the Courtyard and Ambulatory (previously occupied by LIFFE until 1991).
Works were completed on schedule to convert the Listed Courtyard into 12 new retail units and 2 bar/restaurants pre-let to some of the world's best known luxury retail brands and a Conran restaurant.
